Remembering my Lola Bayang

          I still remember noong bata pa ako, I think I’m 4 or 5 that time, lagi ako sinusundo ni Lola sa Kalimbas, para magbakasyon sa Pampanga. Tapos susunduin namin si Grace para may kalaro ako sa bahay, doon din cya matutulog.. and then Grace became my bestfriend… Ang unang church song na natutunan ko was IBPA MI, ung Our Father sa kapampangan, cya nagturo sa akin nun, she taught me how to sing “Atin Cu Pung Singsing”. Pag wala kaming magawa sa bahay, pupunta kami sa house ng friend nya para makapaglaro cya ng 41 (card game) ,and she taught me how to play BINGO, kaya when I start schooling, I thought number will end at number 75, kase un ang last number sa BINGO.  Most of our neighbors called me Aiza, kase pinapasuot sa akin nila lola katulad ng damit ni Aiza Seguerra. Lagi kami kumakain sa San Fernando ng Palabok, after namin mag grocery sa Ves Mart.

Every summer sinusundo talaga nya ako, hanggang sa matuto na akong umuwi ng Pampanga mag-isa, when I turned 13. Almost half of my life nakasama ko sya every summer. Hanggang sa makasama ko na din yung ibang cousins ko na magbakasyon. Sa pagbabakasyon namin doon, may isang hindi ako makalimutan, ung minsan nanonood yung  kambal na cousin ko, nilipat ng kapatid ko ung TV, nagsumbong ngayon sa akin ung kambal, sbi nila, “ate, nilipat nya ung  TV eh nanonood kami.. ginawa ko ngayon, kinuha ko ung remote tpos nilipat ko sa channel kung saan may pinanonood ung kambal. Nagsumbong ung kapatid ko sa Mommy namin, at inaway talaga ako, bkit ko daw inaaway ung kapatid ko, tpos pinapalayas ako sa bahay, feeling ko talaga nun, aping-api ako.. ako naman nagbalot na ng gamit, paglabas ko ng bahay sumunod ung kambal at iyak ng iyak.. hinihintay namin si lola, kse hihingi ako ng pamasahe,maya maya papasok na ng gate si lola, may dalang mangga at harina, magluto daw ako ng pancakes.. tpos tinanong ako, saan daw ako ppunta.. sabi ko, Lola uwi na po ako.. tpos sumagot ung kambal, Lola pinapalayas cya ni Tita, tpos kinuwento nila kambal ung nangyari, habang ako hindi nko umiimik, kse feeling ko noon, galit sa akin ung mundo.. Nagulat na lang ako  ng bigla akong hinatak ng Lola ko papasok sa loob ng bahay, tpos hinarap Mommy ko, tapos sinabi nya, bakit palayasan me ing apu ku? ikaung adwa mi inda ing lumayas keni.. nag-away silang dalawa, at ang ending nun, nag stay ako, at ang lumayas ung kapatid at Mommy ko, nung oras din na yun. Pag alis nila, sabi ni Lola sa amin nila kambal, anu gusto nyo meryenda? tapos nagtawanan kami na parang walang nangyari… pero after dinner nagtanong ako kay Lola, sabi ko, Lola bakit ganun si Mommy sa akin?.. sabi nya lang sa akin,

“Ot mkanian ka , eme isipan i Mommy mu, basta ing tandanan mu… apo daka… apo daka..” yun talaga ung moment na naisip ko, kung gaano ako kahalaga sa kanya..

Lagi ako excited umuwi ng Pampanga, lalo na pag may honor ako, kase I know she will gave me a reward. She will hang my ribbon on her mirror table, tapos ipapakita nya yun at ipagmamalaki sa lahat ng friends nya na pupunta sa bahay, she would proudly tell them, “Kang Karla ya honor yan, biyasa ya talaga ing apu ku na yan! I love her so much because she gave me everything I ask for and I didn’t ask for, and she showered me love. I’ll be forever thankful to her, lalo na sa mga times na pinagtatanggol nya ako..

“Kaswerti ko, pegkaluban naku ning Dyos a malugud a apung kalupa mu na alang kapara ing lugud a pepakit mu at salamat qng lugud a ita. Kaluguran daka din apu ko, Kaluguran daka… Edaka kalingwan kapilan man”…

Hello all and welcome to my world!!! I am a work in progress, everyday learning and growing into the woman that my mother raised me to be, and that life has molded me to become. I have had my ups as well as downs. Sometimes it seemed as if the downs outweighed the ups, but thru it all I have been blessed to still be able to stand. Maybe a little bruised and tarnished, but stronger than before with more knowledge. I try to find the lesson in each disappointment and apply each lesson where it applies in my life later on down the road. I am on a never ending quest to find and keep peace within and learning how to let my inner light shine thru to the rest of the world..

I’m a very simple and funny type of person,  I’m easy to be with but hard to approach.

I am definitely not into the party scene, I am more of a homebody...

I'd rather stay at home and rest than go out when a day or night off...

My experiences have made me wise beyond my years, but I don't consider myself nearly as wise as some of my friends and family.
